Fiverr is an AWESOME resource that lets you buy and sell stuff for $5. (no that was not an affiliate link) ;-P
When you see some of the things that people are doing for $5 – and people are willing to buy the – you’ll understand why I say this is a super QUICK money trick.
Seriously though, I know a lot of people who are either strapped for cash who could use this.
And besides, five bucks is nothing to sneeze at. It’s good money especially when you get paid over and over again!
Not only that, but anyone looking to build a service based business or just have some fun online can do that too.
With it you can quickly turn an ordinary passion you have into an extra side gig that puts some nice cash in your pockets.
In the case of a business, it’s an awesome way to build up your client testimonials and get exposure for your biz.
If you’re looking to outsource some work you need done.. it’s a dirt cheap way to do it!
Take it from me, and test the waters on Fiverr because I think you’ll find it to be a great resource to add to your bag of tricks going forward.

2011 Success Checklist – # 5

How old are you? Seriously…?
The reason I ask is this… when a child is 2 years old (and I’ve had 2 of those) they’re in a constant state of “I want it now! I want it now!”"
…And that’s fine because in the modern age we live in, we understand that at that age the human brain does not understand the process of getting or earning or even understand that there is a world outside of themselves.
So we accept it.
Nowadays though, I’m discovering that there are “grown adults” with the same mindset as a 2 year old!
Lets look at those who want to make money online…
Most of them – maybe even you – and SURELY that was me in the past – they want to make major bucks today and if they can wait a little… then tomorrow.
Sounds pretty silly – right?
One of the biggest things I’ve discovered while achieving success online is the power of PATIENCE!
Expecting things to fall into your lap NOW is a sure way to fail.
There’s no doubt about it.
You know the old saying, “Rome wasn’t built in a day?”
Well sadly many people who are struggling right now with achieving some desired level of success “ain’t got no patience” – for lack of better words.
People forget that it takes time to create even the smallest things.
Heck, “your Momma didn’t just thrust you out in a day – right?”
Think about it… we have to change internally and externally… we have to learn… transform our minds and our thoughts… we have to become different to be successful.
Look at lottery winners… 97% of them are broke or worse off now than they were before they won the lottery.
Why is that?
Simple… it’s because the money they got wasn’t earned. Their minds were not ready for the responsibility and they sure as heck don’t know how to make more of it.
A similar more devastating situation is true for “rich kids” who were born into money.
They more often than not destroy themselves with their “unearned” wealth. Drugs, depression and no direction in life often gets to them before they understand life.
Believe it or not, we’re often luckier than them to understand the other side of wealth.
Remember the mightiest of mountains starts as a pebble (so to speak)
The hardest of diamonds starts as the softest of carbon.
You have to learn how to make your first dollar before you can make more.
Why shortcut your success only to fail later?
Developing patience is the next item on your 2011 success checklist. Bottom line is “GET SOME!”

2011 Success Checklist – #1

There’s an old saying…
“People form habits and habits form FUTURES!”
There’s nothing truer than that.
2011 is new. It’s like a newborn baby.
New, tender and fragile.
What we do in the beginning 3 months, will dictate what happens over this entire year.
Our habits are what create us. Humans are creatures of routine.
We thrive on knowing what to do and when to do it.
We organize our lives around routines and often around habits.
BUT… many times it’s simply a BAD thing.
For example, I’m a fantasy movie/show buff.
I used to waste hours upon hours a week watching fantasy shows.
Sure, it helped my creativity for my business, but it also prevented me from making good use of my time.
Many people are “reality TV” fans.
Boy, I gotta’ tell ya’ if there’s anything worse than sitting in front of the TV to watch shows that don’t make you productive, it’s all these reality TV shows.
How much time does that habit cost you? How much money is it making you lose?
Think about how much money those people are making to be on those shows! You’re paying their salaries and gaining pretty much NOTHING in return.
For some, it may not be reality TV. For some it’s texting on their phone, instant messaging on their computer, blabbing on the phone with pals over nothing.
For others it’s drinking and hanging out at the local lounge or pub.
And that’s just considering the time element we waste with habits.
Then there’s the financial costs. For example… Some people MUST have that cup of Starbuck’s coffee in the morning, but is it really worth $5?
Couldn’t you make better coffee with the stuff you buy in the grocery store and save $35 a week?
Smoking cigarettes is another one. I used to smoke. BAD habit, but it’s also a physical addiction. Face those two facts and you’ll be well on your way to quitting smoking and living a healthier life.
The point here is, we all have habits that waste our time and our money… and definitely our energy.
Conquering those habits is as simple as changing your patterns.
Research has shown it takes between 21 and 66 days to form a habit.
The opposite seems to be true too. You’ll need about 21 to 66 days to quit a habit too.
When I ‘kicked the fantasy movie habit’ (finally) I found myself having so much more time, that I actually got more done, made more money, became more organized and had time for my exercise!
I know this post has nothing to do with making more money… or does it? Hmmm….?
Well truth is, it does.
You just need to see how breaking a habit can free up more time and money to focus on more productive things that can help you become more successful in 2011.
BREAK those habits holding you back!
Kick the time and money wasters to the curb!

The Laziest Money Ever!?

This post will be quick, but very eye-opening…
My mentors Rasheed Ali and Huey Lee taught me this and it has stuck with me ever since.
You see, what happened was I was disturbed and downright confused by a very (what I thought) weird product. I asked them, “guys, how can anyone make money with this?”
(it was a product about how to get rid of Hemorrhoids)
So instead of answering the question they asked me, “John, why would a person search for getting rid of hemorrhoids?”
I proudly answered, “Cus’ they’re a pain in the ass!” LOL
After a good chuckled Rasheed said to me, “John, people have other problems. Not just money, but things like relationship problems, acne problems, beauty problems, pet problems and on and on. They are searching for the solutions to these problems.”
Huey continued by telling me, “Not only that, but they’re also not willing to keep searching for the answers. People are naturally lazy and don’t want to spend hours upon hours looking for an answer… plus they’re very often embarrassed of some of these things so they are more than willing to pay you to learn how to fix their problem fast.”
That’s the secret to how people make money with things that would normally seem silly to most.
The formula is simple.
Laziness + Nagging Problem = Instant Income for the Solution!

How to Avoid the Success KILLER – Emotional Baggage

A lot, a little, too much?
Emotional baggage is one of the surefire killers of success, and destroyers of dreams, and can literally ruin your life forever.
Getting rid of emotional baggage is one of the keys to success in life, in business, and in all aspects of your finances.
One of the laws of having or getting the most power in your life and over your life is to get a bit of emotional baggage.
You see, we’re all human so we have all been crossed at some place in our lives.
It could be a harsh words with a relative, a child who lied to, a friend who has betrayed you, a business associate who has outmaneuvered you, a coworker who wants your job or promotion, or even those danged gurus who wants your money!
Whatever the situation or event that has transpired, it is all left some type of mark on your life.
Successful people – those who are powerful in all that they do – understand that these things are simply going to happen and it is they are not the event that controls the outcome.
Often times we walk around with emotional baggage thinking about it and having it scrape at our souls, making us more and more aware of it and less aware of how it is affecting us.
To stop this we have to realize that in life those that are able to let go of such small and inconsequential things are able to elevate themselves above the monotony and bring themselves into a higher state of being.
Yes, people will notice and try to pull you down but it is your job to stay powerful and focused on the larger things in life.
The truth of the matter is those that focus on all the little things that happened are only seeing the world in a very narrow frame of mind. The Powerful person knows that everything has its place and they understand how to turn events in their favor.
An easy way to combat emotional baggage on a daily basis is to simply remind yourself that the thoughts you are having a small and beneath your level of power. Knowing this helps you realize that these small things that pop into your mind from past or current events are causing you to become more and more unsuccessful.
Remind yourself that letting go and thinking of clever ways to turn a negative situation into a positive one will not only empower you but also makes those that have cost you respect you and realize they are powerless against your mind.
I know some of this is not typical John Carter but the truth is… it needs to be said.
Many of my subscribers have been making posts on the blog that lead me to believe that there is a lot of emotional baggage that I love to help you guys get rid of.
My mentors taught me that the real way to become successful in this industry is to help others become successful. It’s a true value for value exchange.
And I hope I can keep giving you value.
You know, I had a lot of emotional baggage… Or so I thought until I spoke to my mentor Mr. A.
He had a childhood that was more like a horror story of beatings, verbal abuse, homelessness, poverty, illness, etc.
Yet, he has released his emotional baggage and has helped to generate over $30 million for himself and his clients over the last five years.
You see, he taught me that once a person releases the emotional baggage, drops the things that are blocking their mind and accept new solutions or ways around it… they become ultimately free and the free mind is a successful mind.
I hope this post has open your mind and help you in some degree.

How to Get Unstuck and Succeed Beyond Your Wildest Dreams!

*** This is a very important blog post so please read it very carefully because it has the power to transform your life… I promise!
Last week as I was on the phone speaking with my mentor (Mr. A.) an interesting thing happened…
As I was talking to him about an upcoming project he said to me, “John, is this the real deal?”
“What do you mean,” I asked? “Of course this is the real deal why else would I talk about it?”
He said, “I don’t think you get what I mean here John, I’m asking you this question for a very specific reason. You see, years ago when I was getting started online and even back when I was consulting I made an interesting discovery.”
He continued, “What I discovered was that there were five principles that dictated the success of everything I ever pursued. Every project, every goal, every single thing! The interesting thing about it is this doesn’t just pertain to me. I found that these five principles were present in the endeavors of most people, if not everyone.”
My mentor and I continued on as he carefully outlined the principles to me. He then gave me the okay to reveal them to you.
Now keep in mind this is coming from a multimillionaire…
As it turns out this real deal principle is actually an acronym.
Here it is:
R – Realize
E – Everything’s
A – Always
L – Learned
D – Decision
E – Enthusiasm
A – Action
L – Learn
To be honest any average person can look at these principles and understand them almost immediately. It’s truly the ‘little guy’s’ way to success.
Here’s how it works:
REAL – this is the first principle. It simply means that when you venture onto any road toward success or a goal you must always realize everything’s always learned. This principle is pretty self-explanatory, but just to elaborate on the essence of what it means is that no one is born knowing how to be great – everything we do we learn.
DECISION – when we are ready to become successful at anything we must make a decision on what we want to pursue. It is said, “successful people make decisions fast move away from the decisions slowly. This is the basis of the DEAL principles
ENTHUSIASM – enthusiasm is the energy that drives an idea or concept forward. Without it nothing we’ve done and nothing we will do can ever happen or would have happened otherwise. Enthusiasm has its roots in the Greek language and it literally means “the God within.” That definition alone makes it pretty obvious that enthusiasm is the spark of creation.
ACTION – taking action is one of the most obvious parts of success, however the truth of the matter is most people never move out of their comfort zone and into the actual DOING part of success. Sadly most people fall short because they get carried away in thinking about how much they have to do instead of focusing on the small steps it takes to reach their goal and/or success. Your enthusiasm will spark your actions and catapult you forward but – The bottom line is if you do nothing you get nothing!
LEARN – the fifth and final principle is to step back once you have made your decision, became enthusiastic, and took action. This aspect of learning is to track your results or lack of results and take the necessary steps to either repeat your success or learn from your failure and improve. In other words learning happens before and after you do the DEAL.
So when Mr. A. asked me is this the real deal what he meant was would I be following these principles to reach success or will I go about it haphazardly?
Most people go about reaching success in a haphazard manner and not realizing that there is real power to support them. The REAL DEAL principle is what separates the winners from the losers and is the core of what helps people get unstuck.
So instead of getting unstuck because you have no choice, isn’t it time you become the REAL DEAL?

5 Attitudes Needed For Online Business Success

Being a self employed person is the ultimate dream of most people nowadays. To be working at the convenience of their own homes and at their own time, without bosses to yell at them and paperwork cluttering all over the desk. In the competitive world of online business, you don’t only need the guts to make it work.
There are several attitudes that you should have or acquire to be successful in this arena. Some of the attitudes that you have applied while working in a traditional business will still apply to the online business arena but you need more than that.
Here are a few of those primary attitudes that you need to possess so you can be successful in the online business arena:
1.Patience and Trust. Patience is always needed because you won’t be an instant millionaire in just one blink! There is no such thing as that. Online businesses are real and similar to traditional businesses; it requires you to be patient in all aspects of it. You have to have the desire to invest time and effort. Success won’t come overnight. Profit may not appear instantly but it will come knocking at your door.
Trust is another factor to consider when doing online business. Make sure that you have trust on the business that you’re in. If not, you will have a hard time to motivate yourself to be patient and to be positive about everything that you are doing. Research on the business first and ask questions about it before plunging in. This way, you’ll know what the pros and cons are.
2. Self confidence and Discipline. One must be self confident and discipline to motivate him to do what he needs to do even if success is still vague. This means you will need to go ahead, keep on going in spite of obstacles and huge competitions.
3. Willingness to learn and be trained. There is no business in this world that doesn’t need learning. Actually, in our lifetime, learning should not stop. We always have to learn new things along the way. We should be open-minded in all things that are presented to us. If you are willing to be trained, coupled with discipline, your dreams of being successful in online business won’t be hard to achieve. You must be willing to go an extra mile to succeed.
4. Gratitude and Respect. Learn to respect all people in your circle especially those who have helped you with your online business. There are people who ask for help and when they are harvesting the fruits of their labor, will never glance back to those people who have helped along the way. Never burn bridges for you still might need the help of these people in the future.
5. BE HONEST. This is a very important attitude that should be use anywhere, anytime. Remember the golden rule of Confucius to not to do unto others what you don’t want others to do to you. A lot of internet businesses are now mushrooming, most of them are legitimate but there is also a fair share of scams in the online business arena.
Learn to distinguish one from the other and make sure that your business is not part of the latter. Remember that making money in a dishonest way will return back to you ten folds. Although there are people who said that a program is a scam but were unable to really try it and discover the pros and cons of it. Every business has its own advantages and disadvantages. It’s up to you to investigate more and decide for yourself.
Starting an online business is really hard at first, how much more being successful with it? You have to climb up the ladder slowly but surely without hurting others. If you have these attitudes, you are not close to getting the success you desire so much but it can help you get there.
Success does not bear any secret ingredients but these attitudes coupled with hard work and optimism. If you have these, you will succeed in any kind of business, be it traditional business or online business.
Making Money Online is DEAD!

I have something important to tell you and you’re not going to like it.
You see… As of today, “Making Money Online” is DEAD!
You’re probably wondering why would say something so blasphemous- so downright wicked – and so heartbreaking when so many people online are trying to make an honest living from home.
Now don’t get me wrong… to be honest with you… I am being a little sarcastic… but to tell you the truth, if things continue the way they are going most people will not succeed.
Here’s what I mean:
There’s a lot of people nowadays pushing or should I say selling – old and rehashed information – that in many instances are actually harmful rather than helpful. Recently I even saw one well-known guru selling a search engine submitter service to unsuspecting customers.
They are literally KILLING your ability to make money online and WASTING your time!
Just so you know you don’t need to submit your website or blog for that matter to the search engines, because they find you!
Now let me get something straight here… you only need THREE things to become successful with a website.
These three things are not going to make you successful as a person or business, but they will make you successful with your website AND that is the beginning of real success online.
So what are they?
Here are the three things things you need to become successful online guaranteed!
- A product or service - having a product or service to offer customers is of course the first thing you need to have make money online. Obviously you need something to sell in order to generate income. That could be a physical product, a digital product, or your particular service.
- A website – here’s another obvious one. Having a website is the equivalent of the old brick and mortar method of selling in the off-line world. Yeah you know… like a store! Hard to believe huh? lol
- Traffic – traffic is often the missing ingredient to most people’s success. When I introduced you to rapid income creator I was essentially introducing you to a source of traffic and a method of making money without having your website to start. Interesting thing about traffic is that it’s the one thing most people neglect! Even in the year 2010, people still believe that if they build a website by some method of magic people show up. Even the “all search engine friendly blog” can’t do that nowadays.
Yes, it’s that simple.
A product or service, a website, and traffic are all that you need to become wildly successful online.
Yes I have to admit there are some elements to the website that are going to dictate your success such as your offer and the all critical sales copy however, even the worst website can make a few bucks at least with enough traffic.
So when gurus are feeding you with her loads of crap and you’re wondering what you should do, just ask old John here and I’ll gladly tell you whether or not the latest gizmo works.
So for today, search engine submitters is a big negative. I’ll be on the lookout for crap to tell you about.
There are a new class of tools coming out, but there is going to be clones and ripoffs that are following that either don’t work because they were built right or their blatant lies.
Here’s the take away:
If you are an affiliate marketer, you need to find the right product to promote and send traffic to it OR build a blog or website around that category of product to make yourself an authority figure on it. This way when you recommend that product or the class of products the traffic that you are generating will now be more likely to buy. This is an EXTREMELY powerful method.
If you are looking to build a business/asset online then of course the first thing you need to do as a little research into what people want and build a product or service around it. Be sure you have competition. Yes you must have competition! That simply means that money is being made with that type of product or service. as long as he can offer something better, equivalent, more unique or a better price, you’re all set.
As a product owner all you need to do now is set up a website with a great offer generate traffic to it.
This post has helped you or at least solidified these ideas in your mind.
Starting out online and you’ll find that there is never a shortage of ideas… new methods… and new tools… BUT the fundamentals will always work even if they’re not fancy.

Using Opt-in List to Gather Sales

We’ve mentioned before that opt-in email lists are crucial to affiliate marketers nowadays to gather more traffic and ultimately, more sales. Everyday, the internet is growing at a rate that neither of us can’t imagine so if you are in the online marketing arena, you should look for people who are already online and those who tends to do business online as well.
Using an opt-in email list is still an effective way of marketing your online business whether you want to sell a product or simply looking for someone who could join your network. The people who join an email list do so because they want to have more information about what you are offering or what you are promoting. Opt-in list are populated by these people who have agreed to receive email from specific types of marketers and most of these consumers welcome these kind of emails because it’s an effective way to get offers from not just one vendor.
However, the real question is what kind of customers do you really want? When you are in the internet marketing business, getting your product to the right buyer is primarily the first thing that you should consider. Do you just want to go ahead and flood email inboxes with information on your products or do you want to target a specific market where you know that most of these people will read all your emails and not just skim through it or worse delete them every time they get one from you?
There are two basic types of opt-in list. First is when a merchant includes an opt-in form in their site and collects information that way. Example of that are newsletters, where you, the merchant will send occasional information to the subscribers. Another type is a list purchased from a researcher or a company whose sole work is to collect information from willing buyers of the same products like the one you are promoting in your site.
Most marketers used both types. They have an opt-in form in their sites and they also purchased list of email addresses. As an internet marketer, your goal is to put your products or service at the hands of people who will most likely buy it. So why waste with random email list that have a response rate as low as 1% when you can purchase a list that has a 10% click through rates? It goes back again to the overrated reason of having no money while starting an online business.
There are actually a lot of opt-in email list service providers that you can use which is reliable and the cost is based on your needs too. Several names that come to mind are Constant Contact, Vertical Response, iContact, Emma, Aweber and Get Response. I have tried some of them and each of them charged pretty much the same depending on the features that you are after.
While many people have questioned the effectiveness of this type of marketing due to the rapid increase in unsolicited mail in recent years, it still proves to be a very effective means of promotion on a budget.
